Web Site Design and 3D Modelling for The Fire Beam Company

The Fire Beam Company was specifically set-up to design and manufacture the world's leading optical beam smoke detector. Their innovative and award winning product entitled 'The Fire Beam' is now the beam of choice for many of the leading names in the UK fire industry.

The Fire Beam Company asked Project24 to handle the design of their new web site to promote their products, act as an information resource for potential customers and to be a source of ongoing help and support for existing customers using their products.

The Design Process

To keep in line with the existing Fire Beam brand, we proposed a site design that was clean and tidy, making use of white space in conjunction with the contrasting red colouring used within the Fire Beam logo. We specifically designed elements of the site to resemble the glossy white appearance of the Fire Beam casing (shown right). Above all, the design was user-friendly, simple to browse and created with the user in mind.

The entire design process was carried out over the web with The Fire Beam Company being able to access our client preview area where they were able to review and provide feedback on the designs, allowing them to shape the final look of their web site.

User Registration Database
We set-up a User Registration section of the site where registered customers can log-in to individual user accounts and gain access to service and support material that is not available via the public site.

Powerful Search Engine
We integrated a powerful search engine with spell check and relevance matching to allow visitors to find specific content with ease.

Graphic User Interface
Finally we created a graphic interface to give easy access to a range of powerful database functions that allow staff at The Fire Beam Company to easily view and extract data from their User Registration database.
