New Website Helps to Make A Mother's Day
Thursday 24th January 2008
Mothers' Union is a global Christian organisation with more than 4 million members worldwide running local projects, supporting international campaigns, and fundraising in areas such as parental rights, international debt relief and child poverty.
For Mothering Sunday 2008, Mothers' Union wanted to create an ethical gift campaign, where you can send a Mothering Sunday card together with your desired ethical donation to help support Mothers' Union projects around the world. Gifts include:
a fruit tree or a goat for a mum in the developing world
a literacy circle in Sudan, Malawi or Burundi
an emergency relief kit for families in disaster-hit areas
a marriage preparation facilitator's training
Project24 designed and built the 'Make a Mother's Day' website for Mothers' Union, including a custom built online store to allow visitors to add any number of chosen gifts to their Shopping Basket and complete their purchases online. The site was designed to be extremely easy to use and purposefully offered a fun approach to what is a serious subject matter.
Mothers' Union have told us they're extremely pleased with the finished website. A Mothers' Union spokesperson said "Thank you so much! Wow! We're all really excited, it really looks so great. Thank you so much for all your work on this, it's brilliant and we're so pleased!".
Launching the campaign online has opened up a new world of opportunity for them to raise much needed funds by easily allowing people to support the charity over the web as well as relying on traditional collection methods.
