Website refresh for photographer Jane Hilton

Website design for Jane Hilton

Monday 3rd May 2010

Jane Hilton is a photographer and film-maker based in London. Her work includes a ten-part documentary series for the BBC, and her photographic work is regularly published in The Sunday Times Magazine and The Telegraph Magazine.

As an existing client, Jane required a refresh to her entire website to co-incide with the launch of her new photography book and exhibition titled Dead Eagle Trail, a four year project looking at the lives of America's twenty-first century cowboys.

The new site has been completely redesigned into a wider format, allowing Jane's photographs to be featured in much greater detail, together with larger, better quality video clips of her BBC documentary series. We converted the video clips from DVD before editing them and re-encoding into Flash Video format for quick-loading, high-quality display on the website.

There is also a new section on the site called BOOKS which offers a page by page preview of Dead Eagle Trail, has a feature about the Special Limited Edition, shows reviews of the book and provides links to where it can be bought online. A new PRINTS section has also been added, giving website visitors the opportunity to purchase limited edition prints of Jane's work from the book.

"We found Project24 to have the most enormous amount of patience. Our site was almost entirely image led and whilst we know how images work in a gallery or magazine, replicating that same feel on the internet was a totally different process. Project24 gave us an amazing service, were incredibly thorough, and made our imagery work for the internet."
