Website design for Make a Mother's Day 2009

Mothers' Union is a global Christian organisation with more than 4 million members worldwide, running local projects, supporting international campaigns, and fundraising in areas such as parental rights, international debt relief and child poverty.

For Mothering Sunday 2009, Mothers' Union stuck with the highly successful concept of their original 2008 'Make a Mother's Day' ethical gifts campaign, but chose to give it a brand new look for 2009 and revamp the range of gifts on offer. Using the website you can send a Mothering Sunday card together with your desired ethical donation to help support Mothers' Union projects around the world. This year's gifts include:

• all the tools and seeds required to start a vegetable patch;
• a new hen house complete with cockerels and hens;
• the chalk and blackboard needed to start a literacy programme;
• birthing kits to help new mums and their newborn babies.

We designed and built the 'Make a Mother's Day' 2009 website for Mothers' Union, including a custom built online store to allow visitors to add any number of chosen gifts to their Shopping Basket and complete their purchases online. New additions to the site this year include:

• the ability to purchase gifts in multiple currencies, making it easier for overseas purchases;
• the option to add a further donation amount to your shopping basket;

Just like in 2008, Mothers' Union have told us they love the finished website. Their Head of Fundraising said "Project24 did a great job on our new campaign website. We were really impressed with the technical advice they gave about selling in multiple currencies and how they were able to interpret our existing artwork for the web. A fantastic result all round was achived within a tight timescale. It looks great!".

The site was designed to be extremely easy to use and purposefully offered a fun approach to what is a serious subject matter. Launching the campaign online has opened up a new world of opportunity for them to raise much needed funds by easily allowing people to support the charity over the web as well as relying on traditional collection methods.
