Merchandising units come to life

We have recently produced a range of 3D models to simplify and enhance the process through which merchandising unit designs are reviewed and approved. The models were created for our design partner, Silverstone, who regularly handle the design, construction and placement of such units for their clients.
Silverstone contacted us and asked us to convert their technical drawings (or line diagrams) into three dimensional objects for presentation to the client. Technical drawings are a key part of the design of merchandising units. They contain information such as size, proportion, and structure that is essential if an object is to be built or assembled.
However this information is often not required by the personnel who approve the design of these units and can often be difficult to interpret to the untrained eye. The 3D models help to bring the designs to life, lifting them off the page and conveying features such as texture and lighting that may otherwise be lost. Furthermore, once a 3D model is built it can be viewed from any angle the client desires - a level of interaction impossible using printed designs.
The models are designed to complement the technical drawings rather than replace them. When viewed separately, each method has its own unique benefits, but when presented together they become much easier to understand.
